About the Palms

A quaint little bar and casino

That is how one directory describes us, and it is not a bad summary. The Palms is a small room on Grand Ave with a big tap wall, twenty machines in the back, and staff the regulars know by name.

Beer first, always

Yellowstone County has more video gambling machines than any county in Montana. Machines are not what makes a room worth driving to. What makes this one worth it is the wall behind the bar: twenty handles, thirteen of them Montana beer, from KettleHouse and MAP and Last Best Place and Katabatic and Highlander, plus Uberbrew, Angry Hank’s and Canyon Creek from right here in Billings.

We describe ourselves as a draft house and casino, in that order. Craft beer bar. Watering hole. Growler fills. Friendly staff. That is the whole pitch, and after a few thousand pints it still holds up.

The people behind the bar

Read the reviews and you will notice how often they are about people rather than beer or machines. Best people work here. Always friendly. Very welcoming place to relax. The owner is awesome. That is the part of this room you cannot put on a tap list, and it is the reason most of the regulars are regulars.
